Where Can I Find a Treatment Program That is Right For My Current Stage of Life?

Support plays a very important role in not only the initial stages of recovery from substance use disorder (SUD) but the long haul as well. It is important that you have a strong support system around you as you go through this life-changing and incredibly rewarding time of life. At The Ho Tai Way, we believe that the support needs to begin during the initial stages of treatment as you go through detox and prepare to begin your recovery journey.

It’s for this reason that we offer specific treatment programs that are constructed to meet the needs of each individual that enters our facility. This is to help ensure that you’ll have the opportunity to be surrounded by people that you can connect to and relate to during your recovery.

Why Is Support So Important During Treatment and Beyond?

When you’re going through treatment for SUD, you have no choice but to be very vulnerable. You are forced to take a close look at your life. In addition, you must identify what may be difficult truths about your life. This may include things that you need to work on or change about yourself looking forward to the future. It could also include confronting trauma that you have buried deep inside for a long time.

Many people who struggle with substance misuse have experienced some sort of trauma in their past. It could date back all the way from when they were a child. Some common forms of trauma include physical, sexual, or verbal abuse. Others could include losing a loved one unexpectedly, surviving an accident or natural disaster, or witnessing an act of violence.

When people experience these things, especially at a young age, they are not always equipped with the emotional ability to cope with the emotions they are experiencing. Because of this, they often tend to try to ignore what happened and push it away for as long as possible. No matter how long this goes on, it can still affect an individual into adulthood. This is why many people tend to misuse substances to cope.

In order to confront this trauma and begin to heal from it, it’s important that you have people around you can turn to. This peer support can come in the form of family members and friends. It can also come from those in your 12-step support group meetings during treatment and beyond.

Why Is It So Important To Be In A Treatment That Meets My Current Needs in Life?

There are a lot of factors to consider when you’re choosing your treatment plan. It must be the right fit for you and your current stage in life.

For example, is an in-patient or out-patient treatment program the right fit for you and your needs? Do you need to attend a facility that is close to where your family is located? What sort of triggers are you going to be needing to avoid during treatment?

You might also want to consider your age and current stage in life. Who are you going to connect and bond with the best while in recovery? You might find yourself feeling more comfortable opening up and sharing with people who are in your current stage in life.

This may be especially the case during 12-step support group meetings. It can help to know that these people can relate to what you’re going through. You all can learn from one another.

What Sort of Treatment Programs Are Available at The Ho Tai Way?

At The Ho Tai Way, we offer female-only residential treatment. We are a female-only facility for several reasons. We believe that all women deserve a safe space where they can recover from substance misuse in peace. In the case that they have come from past trauma due to domestic violence or other similar situation, we don’t want to reopen old wounds while they are trying to heal.

Another reason we are a female-only facility is that we believe that the support and empowerment women can give to other women is truly incredible.

We offer three programs designed for your specific stage in life. The first is “Young Women” which is for women who are between 20 and 34 years old. This program is for women who are just starting out in life and are still learning how to make positive decisions for themselves and their family members.

The second program is “Accomplished Women” which is for women between the ages of 35 and 54. A lot of these women are mothers and are more advanced in their careers. They recognize how their substance misuse is jeopardizing those things. They are ready to make a positive change in their lives.

The third program is “Experienced Women” which is for women 55 years old and up. These are women who have a lot of life experience under their belt and wisdom to share with others. They are looking to enjoy this stage of life to the fullest by getting sober.

No matter what stage you’re at in life, you can get sober and stay sober. Sobriety comes with many wonderful blessings and can help ensure that you’re living your life to the fullest. Having a good support system is such an important part of this process. If you choose to seek treatment at The Ho Tai Way, you will be supported by other women who you can connect with and relate to.
