Women in the Military: Healing From Trauma and Addiction

The Ho Tai Way – Recovery For Women provides trauma-informed Care for:

  • Active military women
  • Female veterans
  • Spouses and partners of military personnel

Members of our armed forces often face trauma as part of their duties.

Women in the military or wives of military personnel often face additional trauma as a result of harassment, abuse, and sexual assault.

Trauma often leads to depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.

Our heroes do not need to be broken. You deserve healing from addiction and trauma.

Our programs offer trauma-informed care for military women in a safe, supportive, and accessible environment.

Why Is The Ho Tai Way – Recovery For Women Right For You?

Our comfortable Costa Mesa facility is easily accessible from nearby military bases in Southern California. We are authorized to accept TRICARE so that cost will not be a barrier to your treatment.

Our forte is trauma-informed care. We are small, intimate, with a capacity of six women at any given time. We provide physical, emotional, and psychological safety.

Enough of Being Tough

Women in the military or whose spouses or partners are in the military endure a harsh environment that is created by gender inequality. Not only are they outnumbered by their male counterparts, but they also face physical inequality and are often discriminated against in a male-dominated hierarchy.

Women on active duty often face sexual harassment, sexual threats, and sexual assault. In addition to the obvious trauma this can cause, they often face barriers to justice for these offenses. They may be told to “toughen up.”

That pain gets stuffed inside and can even develop into post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Incidences of PTSD in active military and veterans result in significantly higher levels of depression, anxiety, addiction, and even suicide.

As a woman who has given service to her country, you don’t also need to give your life because of untreated trauma and addiction. Choose today to be the day that you have had enough of being tough. Find the help you need.

Married to the Military

Wives and partners of military personnel face stressors that the general public does not, including:

  • Being separated from their partner for long periods of time
  • Living as a single parent while their partner is deployed
  • The stress that their partner may not come home
  • Moving often and being away from extended family
  • Abuse and trauma from their partner due to their stress and trauma

Because of the added stressors these women face, addiction is more prevalent in the wives and partners of military personnel than in the general population. They often lack the emotional support they need, as well.

At The Ho Tai Way – Recovery For Women, we understand the challenges of spouses and partners of military personnel and the need for trauma-informed care in your addiction treatment.

Our goal is to help you heal so that you can support your spouse or partner as well as your family. We offer a safe haven for you to confront your pain and move forward in recovery.

Why Military Women Deserve a Program for Women

Women in the military live in a male-dominated society. Often, their voices have been stifled, or they have not been heard or acknowledged for their achievements.

For women in the military who have experienced emotional, physical, or sexual abuse by men, being in treatment with men can be triggering. This makes it difficult to heal.

At The Ho Tai Way – Recovery For Women, we have created a compassionate, supportive, and safe environment for women to heal from addiction. We allow you to begin your healing in a place without the triggers of your past trauma.

Empowering Women Who Have Been Silenced

As a woman who has experienced a male-dominated environment like military life, you may feel disconnected, lonely, and victimized. Your substance abuse may have even stemmed from trying to manage this pain alone.

Experiencing treatment with other women helps you realize that you are not alone. You can recognize that others have pain and that you can be vulnerable and seek healing together. You can have a safe place to find your voice and find yourself again.

Removing yourself from an environment that may include harassment, gaslighting, threats, violence, and assault can help you realize that you are not a victim. That you are powerful. That you can take control of your life and find your recovery.

At The Ho Tai Way – Recovery For Women, we are here to help you heal and to empower you to take control of your life again. In doing so, you also empower other women who have similar stories or experiences.

Becoming Your Own Hero

Women in the military, veterans, or spouses or partners of military personnel deserve to be treated as heroes. That begins when you realize that you can be a hero in your own life by seeking treatment for your addiction, trauma, and co-occurring disorders.

We are committed to helping empower you to receive the gifts of Prosperity, Wealth, Joy, and Abundance in your life. We teach you how to receive these gifts for yourself through the lens of recovery.

No matter how far back your trauma goes, no matter the pain that you have been trying to manage with substance abuse, you can experience healing as you seek treatment at The Ho Tai Way – Recovery For Women.

We offer a safe refuge for our female military heroes and a place to heal after your own personal war with addiction.
