What Kind of Support Should I Expect From My Addiction Treatment Facility?
This entry was posted in Facility Information and tagged , on by .

Making the decision to seek treatment for substance use disorder (SUD) can seem daunting. Choosing which facility you’re going to go to receive treatment at can also seem overwhelming due to how many options there are across the country.

While there may be a lot of good facilities out there, not all of them offer the same individualized care as we do at The Ho Tai Way. At our facility, we know that the treatment process can seem scary, so that’s why we pride ourselves on being there for our patients every step of the way, from before they even come to our door until after they have finished treatment with us. We are a smaller, women-only facility and the perfect place to begin your healing process and start the next chapter of your life.

The First Steps

Your experience with our team is going to start before you even enter our doors. When you first reach out to us via phone or through the contact form on our website, you’re going to get connected with one of our admission counselors. They understand that you are new to this process and may have a lot of questions. They will happily answer anything you may ask and will help ensure that you feel as confident and comfortable as possible as you begin this journey. They will then walk you through completing your insurance verification form and choosing the start date of your treatment. We understand that not everyone lives near Cosa Mesa, California, where our city is located, and that’s okay. We will help take care of organizing transportation for you, even if this involves an escort from the airport to our facility.

The Next Steps

When you first arrive at our facility, you’re going to be introduced to our team members, including our Chief Operating Officer. Our team will assist you with any remaining paperwork and can answer your additional questions to make sure that we’re all on the same page. We will then take your vitals as well as a urine sample so we can come up with an assessment and finalize your treatment plan. We’ll also get a sense of your mental, physical, and social state so that we can tailor your treatment to fit your specific needs and situation as well as possible.

After these initial arrival stages are complete, you’ll get welcomed to your room, where you can settle in. We’ll also give you a tour of our facility so that you’ll know where everything is and what amenities you have access to. After you’ve received a full medical examination, you will begin the detox process. During this time, our goal will be to keep you as comfortable as possible. You’ll be monitored regularly, and a doctor will be on call at all times in case any medical issues may arise.

Once you are ready and in the right mental state, you’ll move on to the next stage of your treatment, which will last several weeks. You’ll work with a therapist to help determine the root cause of your addiction and develop healthy coping mechanisms for stress. You’ll also be able to participate in group therapy, mindfulness practice, gratitude practice, 12-Step meetings, lifestyle classes, and psychotherapy. We also utilize therapeutic practices such as yoga, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and sand play therapy. You’ll get to learn life skills and develop a healthier daily routine.

During your time at your facility, you’ll come to know yourself better and be better in-tuned with yourself spiritually, mentally, and physically. You’ll feel more confident and in control of your life and excited about the future and the many good things to come.

Continuing Your Treatment Plan

At The Ho Tai Way, we know that your recovery journey doesn’t end when you leave our facility. It’s something that you will work to maintain over the rest of your life. We want to make sure that you are as prepared as possible to transition back to your normal life and have all the tools necessary to enjoy a long-term recovery. We’ll make sure you know exactly what you need to do to maintain your recovery moving forward. We’ll connect you with therapists and 12-Step meetings that are local to you and make sure you have all the information that you’ll need.

We’ll also keep in touch with you through our alumni program. We have an alumni Facebook group where patients who are in recovery can connect with other past patients. We also offer virtual alumni meetings to check in with past patients as well as daily posts on our alumni page.
